Linotype Octane包含在TakeType字体库中，它是从1994年和1997年Linotype举办的的International Digital Type Design Contest的参赛作品中选出的。该字体由德国艺术家Norbert Reiners设计，这是一款高而细的字体，线条宽度窄，笔画对比度明显。常规和粗体字重看起来有点偏静态，而斜体就给人一种动态的感觉。Linotype Octane有四种字重，每种字重都包含很多的连字。冷静保守的Octane最适用于设置较大字体尺寸的短文本和标题。

Linotype Octane is part of the TakeType Library, selected from the contestants of Linotype's International Digital Type Design Contests of 1994 and 1997. The font was designed by German artist Norbert Reiners, a tall, thin font with a narrow line width and marked stroke contrast. The regular and bold weights seem somewhat static while the italic cuts make a dynamic impression. Linotype Octane is available in four weights, each of which contains a number of ligatures. The cool and reserved Octane is best used for shorter texts and headlines in larger point sizes.
